Speaker Profile

Dr. Lee graduated as a gold medalist in his BDS from University of Malaya in 1989. He later obtained his Master’s Degree of Science in Implant Dentistry from the University of Warwick, England. Dr. Lee was a former honorary clinical lecturer for MSC Implantology at the University of Central Lancashire in England and for McGann Postgraduate School of Dentistry in the United States. Other positions held by him are President of Malaysian Dental Association and Vice President of Commonwealth Dental Association. He was Speaker in the Dental Implantology for FDI World Dental Federation in the Asia Pacific from the year 2010 to 2012. Currently, Dr. Lee is the only certified and authorized Trainer for Blue Sky Bio (USA) Computer Guided Implantology in South East Asia.

Synopsis :

One of the most common complications in implant dentistry is malpositioning of the dental implant. There is nothing farther from the truth that majority of dental implants placed with freehand based on unguided eye-hand coordination frequently resulted in malpositioning implants, endangering patient’s safety and compromising aesthetic as well as function.

Fortunately, advanced 3D computer guided implant technology has been developed and has witnessed tremendous growth in recent times as many implant practitioners started to experience the enhanced optimal implant placement’s accuracy, precision and better patient’s safety as compared to the conventional freehand technique.

This presentation strives to showcase the digital workflow of computer-guided surgery with an emphasis on enhancing design and fabrication of a 3D surgical guide for precise and accurate dental implant surgery.
