Dr. Yue Weng Cheu completed his BDS degree at the National University of Singapore. He was awarded The Pierre Fauchard Academy Foundation Annual Scholarship Award. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and obtained his Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. He attained his Mastership certification with the World Clinical Laser Institute and is currently the Chairperson for the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) affiliated Laser Study Club for Singapore. He received his Certificate of Oral Implantology from Frankfurt University. He has completed the full TMD continuum at Occlusion Connections in USA and finished his mini residency on Dental Sleep Medicine with TUFTS University. Dr. Yue has been lecturing and conducting hands-on courses internationally on various topics which includes Clinical Digital Photography, CAD- CAM, Laser Dentistry, TMD and Myofunctional Therapy and Dental Sleep Medicine. He is the Clinical Director of DP Dental (Kovan) and DP Dental (Orchard). DP Dental group integrates utilisation of dental technology such as Laser, CAD-CAM, 3D jaw tracking and imaging, and digital orthodontics to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes for our patients.

Topic : Wellness Through The Power of the Tongue

 

Abstract :

Your tongue is a bigger part of your body’s health and overall well-being than you think. From birth to old age, this muscular organ in your mouth determines your survival. It shapes your jaw, breathing patterns and even body posture. Learning proper tongue habits and keeping your tongue in an optimal state pays off greatly towards your body’s strength and wellness throughout your life especially in breathing and sleep. Learning Objectives 1. Appreciate the rich neural resources allocated to the stomatognathic system from birth 2. Tongue as an organ and its relationship with the rest of the body systems 3. Learn about laser applications in helping with lingual frenotomy and TMD pain management with photobiomodulation.
