Dr. Rahul (BDS, MDS Endodontics) is an Endodontist with vast experience in his field. He has credit of thousands of successful endodontic cases, involving the retreatment of hopeless teeth. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) from Manipal University, India. Previously, he has worked as a faculty member in dental schools in India and also been consultant endodontist to various dental centres. He has been working as a faculty at faculty of Dentistry, AIMST University, Malaysia and is also currently the Coordinator of Unit of Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry. He was awarded Fellowship from International College of Dentists in 2016 and has many papers to his credit. He delivers guest lectures and carries out different hands-on training programs in Endodontics at the regular basis.




Lecture
Topic : Variables in Shaping of Root Canals

This 45 minutes lecture will cover the clinical elements that are associated with the shaping procedure during a non-surgical root canal treatment. Pros and Cons of these factors will be mentioned, which must be considered by a clinician to achieve safe and effective shaping for a predictable outcome. The significance of technique employed along with the type and manner of the instruments used during shaping will also be highlighted. Towards the end of lecture, the participants should be able to identify the errors made during the shaping procedure and learn the tricks to minimise them while using the options available in today’s era of Endodontics.

Workshop
Topic : Getting Through the Difficult Canals

This half day workshop will consist of a short lecture followed by demonstrations and hands-on sessions. The workshop as the topics says it all, will focus on dealing with the difficult canals during an endodontic therapy which usually include narrow or calcified canals and curved canals. Demonstration to shape and obturate such canals effectively and safely will be given while sharing the tips and showing the tricks involved. Participants will be able to get one to one hands-on session experience and perform the similar procedures as demonstrated. The learning objectives will include negotiation of the canals, motion of hand and rotary files, shaping protocol, carrying out effective irrigation, mastering an easy obturation technique and use of sealers.
