Topic : The Use of Silver Diamine Fluoride in Dental Practise
Abstract :
Dental caries has been regarded as a major public health concern, affecting millions of children and adolescents worldwide. The concept of minimal intervention dentistry (MID) has been introduced as an effort in managing dental caries, supported by the best clinical evidence available. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has emerged as one of the MID strategies in managing dental caries, especially in children. The effectiveness of SDF in caries arrest has been well documented in the literature and proven scientifically. This lecture will discuss the concept and clinical usage of SDF in clinical practice, as well as some drawbacks, innovation and other potential future works involving SDF in community dentistry.
