Lecture
Topic : Immediate Implant Placement

Abstract :

Since the invention of the modern dental implant by Professor Per-Ingvar Branemark, implant dentistry has become the treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth. The origin protocol put forward by Professor Branemark, a two stage surgery on a healed site, was based on the scientific research and clinical experience of that time.

50 years have passed since the invention. With the advances in research, implant design, surface treatment and clinical experience, attempts have been made to shorten the total treatment time based on current understanding of implantology.

In this lecture, we will look into the conventional implant management and the current protocol for immediate placement.
