Abstract

Since 90% of the adult face is built by the age of 11, the conference will focus on functional appliances used for malocclusions diagnosed in children aged 3 to 10. In teenagers, Gugino's principle applies: "The later you treat, the more your concept will have to adapt itself to the patient's face"…

Already in 2002, the French High Authority for Health reported a recurring problem: relapse. To limit or even avoid relapse, we need to go beyond DDM, which is only a symptom. We must carry out the investigation to know who our patient is as a whole: I am talking about functions, dysfunctions and parafunctions. By going beyond the malocclusion, we give a chance to our patient to have a much better maxillofacial growth, a functional and aesthetic dentition cherry on the cake: stability.

This is what we'll be demonstrating in the morning with clinical cases.
