Abstract

Dentistry has undergone a revolution in the past years, not only with the new materials but also with different techniques and approach towards different case, and as ceramic materials for dentistry evolve and as patient's demand for esthetic restorations increases, practitioners must also adopt and keep up with the improving innovations and increasing expectations from the patients who are now much more aware and conscious of their dental needs.

The criteria for tooth preparation, defects, trauma and caries as well as the basic definition of cavity preparation remain unchanged over the last few years. However, the physical preparation design for the replacement of natural tooth structure and the existing restorations especially on the “anterior esthetic zone” has been continuously altered as scientific advances occur.

The topic will discuss the transition of analogue treatment planning and preparation to digital treatment planning. Dentists will be able to efficiently provide the best treatment solution to satisfy the patients’ esthetic demands as well as longevity of the fixed restorations
