| Short Biodata | Dr Heng Pei Fang is a Specialist in Endodontics, accredited by the Singapore Dental Council.She graduated on the Dean’s List from the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS), with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) in 2012. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded the IFDEA Medal in Paediatric Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr Heng practiced general dentistry at the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) from 2012 to 2015. Her growing interest in root canal treatment and related procedures led her to pursue specialist training in Endodontics. She obtained her Master of Dental Surgery (M.D.S) in Endodontics from NUS in 2018, where she was awarded the Society of Endodontists Singapore Gold Medal for clinical and academic excellence. That same year, she was conferred a Membership in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd). Dr Heng served as an Associate Consultant at NDCS before transitioning to private practice in 2021. She continued to contribute to public healthcare as a Visiting Specialist at NDCS until 2024. She now restricts her practice exclusively to Endodontics at The Endodontic Office, a specialist endodontic group practice in Singapore. She is also a part-time tutor with NUS, teaching pre-clinical endodontics to undergraduate dental students. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Heng is passionate about continuing professional education. She regularly lectures and conducts hands-on endodontic workshops through The Endodontic Academy. Her areas of interest include the management of complex endodontic cases, particularly the treatment of procedural complications and anatomically challenging cases. She is a Key Opinion Leader for Kerr Endodontics. |

| Abstract | Endodontic retreatment remains one of the most challenging procedures in clinical practice. Failures in primary treatments are frequently due to missed anatomy, inadequate disinfection, or procedural errors.
