| Lecture | Lecture 17 : The Importance of Vertical Control in Class II Malocclusion Management |
| Date & Time | Lecture 17 : 30 April 2026, 2:15 pm – 3:05 pm |
| Abstract | Effective management of Class II malocclusion extends beyond sagittal correction; vertical control is a critical yet often underestimated determinant of treatment success and long-term stability. Excessive vertical growth, dentoalveolar compensation, and unfavourable mandibular rotation can compromise facial aesthetics, occlusal harmony, and treatment efficiency when not addressed early and strategically. This lecture will explore the biomechanics and clinical considerations essential for achieving optimal vertical control in Class II cases. Key focus areas include diagnostic parameters to identify vertical discrepancies, growth pattern implications, appliance selection and modification, and evidence-based strategies to manage vertical dimension during treatment. Clinical case examples will be presented to illustrate how targeted vertical control can enhance facial balance, improve treatment outcomes, and reduce reliance on compliance-dependent or invasive modalities. |
