Short Biodata

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ravikanth H. Jujare is a specialist prosthodontist and Head of the Master of Orofacial Sciences (MOFSc) programme at the Faculty of Dentistry, MAHSA University. He holds a Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics and completed advanced fellowship and mastership training in implantology under the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).

His clinical career spans specialist roles in Malaysia, India, and Libya, with a practice focus on prosthodontic rehabilitation, implant prosthetics, and orofacial sciences. Dr. Jujare has an active research portfolio encompassing adhesive dentistry, CAD/CAM materials, implant accuracy, resin–ceramic interfaces, and prosthetic complications. His work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including European Journal of Dentistry and Dental Update, and he is the inventor of an AI-powered dental cavity scanning system (2024).

Dr. Ravi also supervises multiple ongoing research projects involving biomaterials, digital dentistry, and implant guided surgery, contributing significantly to evidence-based prosthodontics and dental materials science.

Lecture Lecture 19 : Full crown to Partial crown: Make the transition
Date & Time Lecture 19 : 30 April 2026, 4:35 pm - 5:25 pm
Abstract

Biomimetic dentistry represents a paradigm shift in restorative dental care, emphasizing the replication of natural tooth structure, function, and biomechanics. Rooted in the principles of biomimetics, this approach seeks to conserve healthy tissue and restore teeth using materials and techniques that emulate the hierarchical architecture of enamel and dentin. By integrating adhesive dentistry, minimally invasive protocols, and advanced composite systems, biomimetic restorations aim to achieve long-term durability, stress distribution, and aesthetic harmony.

Unlike traditional crowns that rely on mechanical retention and extensive preparation, biomimetic strategies prioritize preservation and mimicry, reducing the risk of fracture and secondary decay. Emerging technologies such as CAD/CAM, nanomaterials, and digital workflows further enhance precision and predictability. As clinical evidence grows, biomimetic dentistry is redefining restorative standards, offering a biologically respectful and functionally superior alternative. Its adoption fosters a deeper understanding of tooth biomechanics and promotes sustainable, patient-centered care in modern dental practice.
